South Beach rings in the New Year with a brand new nightclub called ICON, opening at 1235 Washington Avenue, the Art Deco theater that was most recently home to Mansion. Following a renovation by Thirlwall Designs, the 30,000 square foot venue will combine the classic architectural elements of a majestic movie palace and the latest advances in audio and visual technology. The club is the brainchild of Emi Guerra and Louis Puig, the nightlife duo credited with Miami’s Parkwest Club District, downtown’s legendary Club SPACE as well as the Swedish House Mafia’s record-breaking “Miami Masquerade Motel” events.
“The opportunity to revive the building and its legacy of success is a true honor,” said partner Emi Guerra. “Nightlife is a fundamental part of the South Beach lifestyle and with more than 40 years working within the entertainment industry, Louis [Puig] and I are looking forward to delivering a fresh, customer-focused concept that pays tribute to the paramount moments that took place within ICON Miami’s previous incarnations.”
Luxurious appointments that are the hallmarks of Art Deco design and state-of-the-art LED technology will create an ambience that offers a multi-sensory experience for every guest. Making a historic debut at the dawning of 2016, the club will host an invitation-only evening with Louis Roederer Cristal Champagne starting at 9pm. If you’re interested in attending, visit the club’s new website iconmiami.com and submit your personal information as well as a recent photo. Those lucky folks selected to attend will be sent a confirmation letter and a printable ticket which is not transferable.
