Presented in Faena Theater in collaboration with Quixotic, a performance collective that combines dance, aerialists, musicians, specialty artists and projection mapping, the debut of Sensatia exemplifies Faena’s commitment to bringing singular experiences to Miami Beach.

A tale of awakened passions, Sensatia follows the path of an uninspired ballerina and overworked violinist as they are led by a muse into a fantasy cabaret where their magic is rekindled. Merging film, live music, perfumery, and culinary arts, the show is unique to Faena, and takes audiences on a journey of inspired discovery, promising a transcendent experience for guests. The performance is alluring and deeply engages audiences through activating each of the five senses, with the taste concept of the evening developed in collaboration with Chef Paul Qui, who is at the helm of Pao, one of Faena Hotel Miami Beach’s signature restaurants.

Sensatia invites guests of the hotel, visitors to Miami, and the local community alike to enjoy a memorable show in an unforgettable backdrop. The 3,000 square-foot, 150-seat Faena Theater provides an unmatched venue to enjoy live performances. Designed by Alan Faena, the intimate setting evokes the grand style of European opera houses, juxtaposing it with the glamour of 1950s Miami. The sumptuous space is marked by gold-leaf and red velvet decor, a dramatic curtain, and a gorgeous statement chandelier. Past performances include Macy Gray, Jon Bon Jovi, Spencer Ludwig, Miike Snow, Grace Potter, Caetano & Gil, Andra Day, C’est Rouge!, and many more.

Sensatia will debut October 12 and 13 with a community show for hurricane relief benefitting Feeding South Florida. The shows are limited seating on a first come, first serve basis with a minimum donation request of $15. Sensatia runs through until November 25 featuring a 9:00 p.m. show on Thursday, an 8:00 p.m. dinner show on Friday and Saturday, as well as an 11:00 p.m. show on Saturday. Tickets can be purchased online at www.faena.com and through Ticketmaster.com or Sevenrooms.com, starting at $55, with $5 of every ticket sale donated to hurricane relief efforts. Indah’s 2015 Swimwear Collection at Miami Swim https://www.southbeachmagazine.com/indah-2015-swimwear-collection-miami-swim/ Wed, 23 Jul 2014 21:00:02 +0000 http://www.southbeachmagazine.com/?p=9614 [...]]]> Bali-based designer Libby Desantis debuted her latest collection at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim in Miami. Hosted at The Cabaña Grande in the Raleigh hotel, this was Indah’s second showcase at swim week. Her collection fuses the sheer and relaxed fabrics of Bali and the bold patterns and edgy silhouettes of the native Zanzibar style. Models prowled the runway wearing unique swimsuits, cover-ups and beachwear with bold geometric and abstract prints embellished with flirty fringe detailing, and neutral metallic hues that added a sexy shimmer.

Indah’s 2015 collection is dubbed JAMBO ZURI, meaning, “Hello Beautiful,” and evokes an atmosphere of travel on an exotic fashion safari across Africa with Indah’s wild prints, seductive cuts and fine fabrics.

Over 400 guests attended the event to experience Libby’s natural instincts behind her JAMBO ZURI 2015 collection. “This collection is my love for women. For mothers, grandmothers and beautiful youth…women are the essence of beauty. All of of us different, all of us the same. Welcome to our show! We are so excited and grateful to have you here. So sit back while we take you on a fashion safari,”said Libby Desantis.

Lolli Resort Collection at Miami Swim Week https://www.southbeachmagazine.com/lolli-resort-collection-miami-swim-week/ Wed, 23 Jul 2014 18:36:34 +0000 http://www.southbeachmagazine.com/?p=9605 [...]]]> Lolli’s 2015 resort collection, Coco Colada debuted at Miami Swim Week on Sunday, July 20th. Filling the runway with simple yet playful designs this collection features vibrant colors to match its tropical fruit theme. Embellished with bright yarn details, fun textures, and flirty patterns the collection features a variety of styles including classic two pieces, high waisted bottoms, and sexy monokinis. Flowing cover-ups and lightweight crop tops round out this collection for a complete beach look.

“When creating a collection I always start with scrapbooking. I take pictures of yummy colors that make me smile and pull swatches and photos that spark a memory. Once I have all of my inspiration I put everything together in one little swimmie,” said Laguna based designer Vy Nguyen of her design process.

To emphasize Lolli’s signature flirty style models walked the runway holding props like pineapples, coconuts, and watermelons. To end the show with a splash models jumped into the pool surrounding the runway at the Soho Beach House.

Collaborating with Acacia Swimwear to put on an energetic show this was Lolli’s third showing at Miami Swim Week.

Miami Swim Week – Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week https://www.southbeachmagazine.com/miami-swim-week-2/ Sat, 30 Mar 2013 21:22:48 +0000 http://www.bikiniswimwearmag.com/?p=515 [...]]]> Miami Swim Week - Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week
Miami Swim Week – Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week

Every look you see on the pages of Bikini & Swimwear gets its start at Miami Swim Week Mercedes Benz Swim on glamorous South Beach. Each July the landmark Raleigh Hotel gives over the entire majestic poolside terrace to fashion show producers who suspend catwalks over the bright blue water and stage night after night of amazing bikini and swimwear shows.

Hundreds of the most famous bikini models arrive at Miami International Airport to be whisked away into the hands of hair and make-up artists to be readied to walk the runways for top designers and emerging talents who reveal their latest creations to the global fashion press. The air fills with perfume, the night sky thumps with electronic beats and hundreds of strobe lights flash as each new model appears in some of the most revealing resort collections.

After days of fashion presentations and nights of hot nightclub parties, the models fly home and the designers take all their samples back to manufacturers across the globe to fill orders for chic boutiques and major department stores who roll out the Best in Swim each Spring. That’s when the Bikini Team starts scouring the web, the mall and the catalogs to see which trends translated into the best looks for real women all over the country – women like us who want to look great, feel confident and know just what to shop for in the season’s newest swimwear styles.
